Everyone saw this coming from a mile away, yet real action was taken on RIM&#8217;s part. I feel if they would have made a jump to Android or WinMO they could have saved themselves. The solution would have been quite easy, encrypt the bootloaders, have preinstalled BES dependent packages on the phones and start shipping them out. RIM was the end all be all of business smart phones but more people are leaning towards their competitors. I feel this move is due to the fact the android and WinMO have deep integration with business, but also allows folks to use it for their personal lives.
